Reggae
Runnins Reviewed
This is a great grassroots reggaezine that I have had the great
pleasure of reading. Each issue is jam packed full with the
latest in the goings on the wonderful world of reggae.
The magazine is maintained by a very righteous set of individuals
who all contribute their own time, without pay. The magazine is
based out of Baltimore, Maryland, USA.
Contributors to the magazine come from both the US and Europe.
One of the contributors, Norman Darwen is from England, proving
that the magazine is a global thing.
Toby Gohn who has contributed to many great articles on this site
is heavily involved in the contributing to the magazine, in one
of the issues I have read he contributes a fascinating and must
read account of the book "The Story of Jamaican Music".
Also featured in the magazines are sections such as 'Pon The
Dance Floor, a review of all the latest live shows. Another
section is the delightfully named Reggaemendations, where all of
the latest releases by national and local artists are reviewed.
I can thoroughly recommend you pick up a copy of this great
magazine. A one year subscripion will set you back the very small
sum of $10, a bargain I am sure you will all agree on. The
magazine is published bimonthly, with Reggae Calandar supplement
distributed monthly.
Also Reggae Runnins is going to be more action packed then ever
before in the coming weeks as the publication will now contain 32
pages, double the amount of the current content. The magazine
will also come with a glossy colour cover, adding to the already
very high standards set by the people at Reggae Runnins.
The Reggae Runnins web site can be viewed at www.reggaerunnins.com or you can reach them by email at runnins@erols.com.
If you are a business that is interested in advertising in Reggae
Runnins or interested in carrying it on your shelves (I strongly
recommend that you do carry a copy or two of these in your shops)
then please contact Toby Gohn, Polly, Jo or Allie on the site.
Thanks to Toby for sending me a copy and introducing me to this
great magazine. I can honestly say you will not be dissapointed
with any part of the magazine, a must of all reggae fans world
wide.
